We are going to see the details of the FiiO FH7, the In-ear monitor which will go beyond your expectations. FiiO itself has been one of the most popular entertainment brands which has helped many audio lovers to satisfy their desires. If you are one of the audiophiles, then you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to try this earbud to improve your audio experience.

FiiO has been one of the most prominent brands in the market. The company has released the FH7, which slated as the flagship hybrid IEM from the brands. As an opening highlight, we’d like to give a thumb up to its ample configuration and sophisticated technology which comes with four Balanced Armature Drivers and a Dynamic Driver inside. The insiders have been delegating it as the far better version of its predecessor, FH5.

The manufacturer has improved the meticulous design and detail of the FH7 so that you will see the significant improvement on its acoustic design, drivers, as well as the cable. Alright, let’s cut to the chase. I’ll just going to bring up the features, as well as the things I like and I don’t like about the new FiiO FH7.

First things first, the package

FiiO has been known as a brand which can keep its branding really well. For the FiiO lovers, I think it is not surprising that the manufacturer retains the classic packaging. So, when you receive the box at your doorstep you will get familiar with it easily. However, it comes with the additional nozzle filters, SpinFit, as well as Bi-Flange tips.

There is a huge difference which we’d like to note. The new case comes with premium and personal touch feeling. The leather case will not be a downside for you. You can carry it around with pride anywhere you go.

The Design

In terms of design, FiiO won’t ever let you down. FiiO FH7 is not coming with an ordinary design. The new FH7 still has the important elements from its predecessors. But just like other FiiO fans, you will quickly notice that it is a FiiO product when you look at it from far away. With such a wave design, it has become easier to spot the FiiO headset and makes it different from any other product.

For those who are familiar with the FH5, you will easily recognize the design of the FH7. It is similar to its predecessor although it comes with few noticeable changes. You’ll agree that the shape is deeper and wider compared to the previous version. Well, the slight wider dimension is because of the addition of the BA drivers and the larger dynamic driver. After all, it does not affect the overall fantastic experience that you can enjoy with this ear buddy.

FiiO FH7 - Sound

What I like at FH7 is that it provides a natural (balanced) sound. Nothing more or less.. The four Knowles BA drivers, the huge 13.6mm Berilium dynamic driver, the S.TURBO v2.0 technology, the 3 pairs of sound filters, and the audiophile-grade cable will provide you an unimaginable audio experience.

The high quality of bass is provided by the size of the dynamic driver and the material from it's made: Berilium. Also, the entire technology that is involved in the dynamic driver will provide to your ear the exactly amount of low frequencies that are present in the track you're listening (without boosting or tempering the original sound). In other words, you'll hear the exactly amount of bass from the track like when it was recorded in studio.

The medium and high frequencies are very well tuned. Nothing overlaps.. Each driver is doing its job as it was designed. With FH7 you can hear all frequencies from the track like when the song was created, in studio.

Driver Configuration

The FH7 comes with five drivers in a hybrid build. These drivers are "visible" when you check on the manual or the brand’s official site.

We’d like to give appraisal to the dynamic driver attached to the buddy. The Beryllium-coated 13.6mm dynamic driver is slated as prominent in their class. For the BA Drivers, FH7 comes with one Knowles DFK and a dual BA driver SWFK.

The Beryllium dynamic driver benefits by the S.Turbo V2.0 technology. According to the insider’s information, it is the perfected design of the dynamic driver which improve the level of detail in the low-end response. What does it mean?

No matter what music you play, not only the crisp of the sound that you will enjoy, but also the bombastic bass quality. Low-end focuses on the bass-frequency signals which are below 250 Hz. So, no matter where you are out there, you will be able to listen to your favorite song in a whole. Anyway, the sub-bass frequencies are less pronounced than at FH5 (where many users described it as a little extended).

The Unit Build

One of the distinctive things which make FiiO unit is different from the others is its chassis. It comes with 5-axis CNC machine with various 21 steps. The shells are finalized with the meticulous hand polishing, which make such a perfect look. The chassis comes with aluminum and magnesium alloy, making it as a tough and durable buddy. Despite its toughness, the IEMs come with such a smooth, rigid, and seamless characteristics. So, you will wear this with comfort while having peace of mind since the ear buddy will not let you down when you wear a pair for a few hours. To conclude, in terms of build, FH7 is reliable for any type of users. It does feel solid and tough. Ones can have peace of mind when carrying it around out there. You can rely on these earbuds for outdoor and indoor activities.

What I like about these IEM: the Dual Venting feature

I often have hearing problem during the flight from one city to another. That’s why I rarely travel internationally unless my relative in Europe invites me for thanksgiving or other special event. Hearing problem always happen when the cabin pressure changes. Every time I got on the flight, this gave me such problems.

Perhaps I am one of the luckiest guys on earth since I could try FiiO FH7 two months ago. An insider told me that by wearing this pair, the Dual Venting feature will protect my hearing from the pressure. The design allows to intervene the pressure relief so that the wearer can wear it with comfort although the pressure change. I was pretty skeptical at first. But after experiencing it myself, I could manage the pressure!

There’s a key behind this. FiiO has added dual bass port venting system. Those who have been on the plane can take advantage of this effect.

What I don’t like

Although it shouldn’t be a concern for most FiiO fans, but I could not less concern about its expensive price tag. But we can pretty much expect such price for a flagship one.  You will soon realize that it is worth your investment after using it.
